As downtown Nashville comes alive in tribute of the legendary artist this summer, the city will host a constellation of Dolly-centered experiences—including the opening of Parton’s exhibition at the Country Music Hall of Fame, as well as this new limited series with the Nashville Symphony, co-produced by Dolly Parton and Schirmer Theatrical (part of Wise Music Group).
This innovative, multimedia symphonic experience features Dolly’s songs and the stories behind them—with Dolly herself on screen, leading audiences through a visual-musical journey. The special summer engagement will run 90 minutes with no intermission and will include all the original Dolly video content.

With deep roots in Durham, North Carolina, Southern American artist Katie Basden grew up immersed in a home full of diverse musical influences. Her journey as a solo artist began at 15 before moving to Nashville, TN at 18 to hone her craft. Proving to be a pivotal decision that would lead her to the biggest stage of her career, Katie emerged in front of a global audience as a Top 20 finalist on NBC’s The Voice with her coach Blake Shelton. Derek Drye is from Thomasville, North Carolina and found his voice on the guitar when he was 14 years old. He has studied Blues/Jazz Theory, played the Ryman & Grand Ole Opry, toured the country as a sideman, and now tours as a music duo with his wife Katelyn under the name of The Dryes. Their music merges classic country tones with modern lyrical wit. Think Conway & Loretta with a Little Rock N Roll. Mentioned in Rolling Stone, CMT, USA Today, and even appearing on NBC’s The Voice, the duo has found their stride as a touring duo, and now are both performing in Dolly Parton’s Threads: My Songs In Symphony, touring in between their own shows.

Hollie Hammel is a Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, producer, and background vocalist. Originally from Nashville, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Belmont University. During her decade in Music City, Hollie toured and recorded with celebrated artists such as Joss Stone, Sara Evans, Hans Zimmer, Brandi Carlile, and more. Her talents have also been featured on projects for Disney, where she lends her voice and likeness to several beloved characters in Harmonious (streaming on Disney+), as well as recordings played in Disney Parks around the world. Now splitting her time between Los Angeles and Nashville, Hollie is deeply passionate about fostering creative communities in both cities. When not collaborating with other artists, she dedicates herself to writing, recording, and producing her own original music. She is currently in the process of carefully crafting her next album, recording and shaping her sound in both cities. Hollie is deeply honored to join the Nashville Symphony in celebrating the legendary Dolly Parton, paying tribute to one of music’s, and her own personal, cherished icons.

Soprano and Nashville local Ally Jackson is proof that big things truly do come in small packages. Standing a petite 4 feet 10 inches tall, Ally is a high-heel-wearing, gospel-singing powerhouse. A blend of sass and class, the Michigan native draws musical inspiration and artistic versatility from great vocalists across multiple genres. With a bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance with a Music Business emphasis from Belmont University, Ally has established herself as a sought-after recording artist and session vocalist within the Nashville music scene. Her recording credits include Disneyland Paris’s live show, “A Million Splashes of Color,” the feature film A Christmas Story Christmas, and numerous high-profile video game soundtracks, including Harry Potter and Star Wars. Most recently, Ally appeared as a background vocalist during the 56th Annual GMA Dove Awards, performing alongside Brandon Lake and Jelly Roll. She has performed alongside major Christian artists including Francesca Battistelli, Anne Wilson, Danny Gokey, Mac Powell, Avalon, and David Phelps. Closer to home, Ally is an active member of the worship team and choir at Grace Church Nashville and has led worship throughout Nashville. Dean Berner is a musician, photographer, and educator. He lives in Nashville, TN with partner Rachel Beauregard, their two daughters and dog Sharkey. Dean is an in-demand session player and is currently touring with MCA Recording artist Catie Offerman. Over the last few years, he’s worked with Andrew Ripp, Mackenzie Porter, Maggie Rose, Lucie Silvas, Jana Kramer, Clare Dunn, Rick Brantley, Paul McDonald and others. From 2003-2013, Dean was a member of country/bluegrass trio Edens Edge (Big Machine Records) and toured with Brad Paisley, Reba McEntire, Rascal Flatts, and Lady A. Also, an avid photographer, Dean holds a Master of Fine Arts in Photography from the University of Hartford and teaches at Nashville State Community College.

John Shaw is a Florence, Alabama, native with nearly twenty years of session and touring experience as a guitarist, utility player, and producer. He has appeared live or recorded with many notable artists including Sara Evans, Brian Kelley, Ashley McBryde, Ashley Monroe, William Michael Morgan, Bobby Osborne, Brittney Spencer, Jason Aldean, Stephen Curtis Chapman, Ronnie Milsap, and Josh Turner, and has appeared on the Grand Ole Opry over 50 times.

Blair Lamb is a Kentucky-grown and New York City-based musician, songwriter, and actor. She received a BFA in Musical Theatre with a minor in Piano from Northern Kentucky University and has since performed professionally worldwide. Dubbed "a Swiss Army Knife of a performer," her artistry captures everything from acoustic original music to jazzy cocktail piano entertainment. Blair has performed on luxury cruise ships as both a dueling pianist and a solo piano bar entertainer, drawing from a repertoire of over a thousand songs. She also periodically works as a professional theatre actor across the country. Above all, Blair is an avid songwriter and spirited storyteller. She frequently graces iconic New York City stages with her ever-growing rolodex of original songs. Kiley Phillips is a Nashville-based vocalist and seven-time Grammy-nominated background singer
known for her versatility, soulful tone, and polished live and studio performances. Originally from Newton, Illinois, she moved to Nashville in 2005, graduated from Belmont University in 2009, and has worked professionally in music ever since. Kiley has performed live with artists including Jessica Simpson, Eric Church, Brandi Carlile, Maren Morris, and Gloria Gaynor, and has provided studio vocals for Carrie Underwood, Lainey Wilson, Jennifer Nettles, Machine Gun Kelly, Hardy, Brandon Lake, and many others. Gary Lunn is a Nashville native and has had over 40 years of experience as a session bassist, programmer, writer, and touring musician. He has done session work for artists like Michael W. Smith, Peter Cetera, Toby Keith, Montgomery Gentry, Tracy Lawrence, Johnny Cash, Sandy Patty, Amy Grant, Dolly Parton and many more. He has also toured with Amy Grant and Dolly Parton. He is still in demand as a full-time recording session bassist in Nashville.

Carl Miner is an international award-winning guitarist, composer, and performer based in Nashville TN. Originally from southern Oregon, Carl got his start in music at a young age by diving into guitar, fi ddle, and mandolin contests around the country - eventually winning many national titles, including National Guitar Champion, and National Mandolin Champion.
After relocating to Nashville, Carl honed his skills as a side-man and session musician, eventually securing his place as one of Nashville’s most prolifi c session players, contributing his talents to some of the biggest country and pop albums in music, as well as blockbuster movie scores and video game soundtracks.
Carl’s musicality has been an important part of songs that have amassed billions of streams and millions of album sales, including releases from Julia Michaels, Chris Young, Selena Gomez, Rascal Flatts, Taylor Swift, JP Saxe, Shenandoah, Akon, Luke Combs, Boyz II Men, Kenny Chesney, and many more.

CMT Next Women of Country and Billboard Country Rookie Julie Williams is turning heads in Nashville’s Americana music scene with her compelling blend of country storytelling, soft-yet-powerful vocal performance, and indie folk production. A member of the Black Opry Revue, Julie was named in Rissi Palmer’s Color Me Country Class of 2021, featured on Wide Open Country’s list of “10 Country Acts Poised for a Breakout Year in 2023,” and her single “Southern Curls” was covered by CMT, “PBS NewsHour,” and numerous music publications. Building her career on the road, Julie has captivated audiences at festivals such as Newport Folk Festival, CMA Fest, Tortuga Music Fest, High Water Festival, and Americana Fest, and has shared the stage with acts across genres, including Jason Isbell, Allison Russell, Mt. Joy, Devon Gilfillian, Brittney Spencer, and Will Hoge. An activist at heart, Julie launched Green Room Conversations, a series of performances and speaking engagements on college campuses to raise awareness of sexual harassment in the music industry. In October 2024, Julie released her EP. Tennessee Moon, that was featured in Billboard, Nashville Scene, and Entertainment Tonight, and listed on NPR music critic Ann Power’s list of best albums released by Nashville artists in 2024. In May, Julie released her new 90s country-inspired song “The Women Who Made Me." With a music video featuring country icon Trisha Yearwood and Julie's mom, the song is a love letter to all of the strong women who made Julie who she is. In Nashville, TN, where guitarists outnumber every other instrument, Lindsey Miller has been carving out an admirable niche for herself. Her fast-growing resume of artists, recording clients, and respected musical associates, has been a natural result of her unusually diverse skill set. Growing up in Prairie Village, KS, Lindsey picked up her first guitar at age ten. Although first inspired by Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, the Beatles, and 90s alternative rock, it was her discovery of hometown guitar hero Pat Metheny that initiated her into the world of jazz. Lindsey’s talent and ever-growing interest in jazz improvisation earned her a scholarship to attend the University of North Texas where she performed in the Two O’Clock Lab band and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Studies. She then went on to complete a Master’s in Music from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Lindsay has toured with Brett Eldredge, Lauren Daigle, Kevin Max, and Danny Gokey. She has performed with jazz, R&B, and rock ‘n’ roll luminaries such as Bernard Fowler, Ellis Hall, Brian Blade, Keith Carlock, Dennis Chambers, Felix Pastorius, Danny Gottlieb, and Jeff Coffin. In 2018, Lindsey was a featured musician in an expose’ on the Nashville jazz scene for NPR’s Jazz Night In America. She performs regularly with symphonies nationwide, notably the Nashville Symphony’s world premiere of Julia Wolfe’s “Her Story,” the Kentucky Opera’s production of Astor Piazzola’s “Maria de Buenos Aires,” and performances of Disney Pixar’s “Coco,” and “Dolly Parton’s Threads: My Songs In Symphony” nationwide. She has appeared on the TV shows CBS Tell Me A Story Season 2, the NBC Rockefeller Tree Lighting Special 2022, and three seasons of ABC/CMT’s Nashville.
When she’s not touring, Lindsey is an active member of the Nashville studio scene. Her recording credits include music for movies such as “Remember Me: The Mahalia Jackson Story (2022),” “Devotion (2022),” “Reagan (2024),” and the Grammy nominated “Indiana Jones and The Great Circle (Original Video Game Soundtrack).” She has also recorded albums and projects for Don Moen, Jason Michael Carroll, Kevin Max, Veritas, DOE, Tasha Layton, Jeff Coffin, David Hamilton, and Katie Callahan. Additionally, Lindsey’s music can also be heard on Bravo, The History Channel, VH1, CBS NFL, Fox Sports, Comedy Central and NBC. In 2023, Lindsey released a three-song jazz EP/video project The Sapphire Sessions: Live From Layman Drug Company which can be viewed via her YouTube channel.

Johnny Richeson is a working drummer in Nashville, Philadelphia, and beyond, and is known for bringing a high level of preparation, musicality, and versatility to every musical situation. Self-taught from ages 12-18, Johnny has since studied with several world-class musicians, including: Derrek Phillips (Hank Williams, Jr., Robben Ford, Charlie Hunter, Gloria Gaynor, Brett Eldridge), Jordan Perlson (Jeff Coffin, Blue Man Group, Becca Stevens), Matt White (Rihanna, Bob Mintzer, Jeff Coffin), Jesse Willis (Coastal Carolina University), and Lalo Davila (Middle Tennessee State University). After moving to Nashville, TN, Johnny enjoyed performing with Zach Top, Jason Scheff (Chicago), The Dryes (The Voice Season 22), and more. He has shared the stage with the Miranda Lambert, Hardy, Jo Dee Messina, Victor Wooten, Bob Reynolds (John Mayer, Snarky Puppy), Jeff Coffin (Dave Matthews Band, Bela Fleck & the Flecktones), and others. Sharing his passion through education is a cornerstone to Johnny’s career. He acts as a professor at Rider University, where he created an immersive travel course bringing students to the Nashville music scene to have their music recorded by GRAMMY-winning artists and to meet with professionals from all areas of the industry. At Rider, he directs the Pop, Rock, and Hip-Hop Ensemble & teaches private lessons. In June 2018, Johnny traveled to Colombia to play and teach at jazz camps around the country for the Colombo Americano organization. He offers clinics, group lessons, and individual lessons on a range of topics, including drum set, Brazilian percussion, Afro-Cuban percussion, classical percussion, music theory, music technology, gig prep, audition prep, career development, and more. Johnny holds a B.A. in Music Performance from Coastal Carolina University and an M.M. in Jazz Studies from Middle Tennessee State University. He is a Drum Set Artist for Innovative Percussion.

Known and respected for his musical versatility and artistic passion, David Hamilton has earned a reputation as an engaging conductor of popular music and a premiere arranger, orchestrator, pianist, and composer. He is uniquely at home leading orchestras, rhythm sections and choirs. He collaborates with artists across multiple genres on the stage and in the recording studio and his arrangements are featured on recordings worldwide spanning gospel, pop, classical, jazz, country and sacred music genres. His music can be heard on recordings by premiere artists such as classical pianist Lang Lang performing with Metallica, Ed Sheeran, The Weeknd, Lady Gaga, John Legend, Celine Dion and “Lang Lang Plays Disney” with the Royal Philharmonic at Royal Albert Hall and the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl. Hamilton has also written arrangements for Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, Kristin Chenoweth, Renee Fleming, Carrie Underwood, Heather Headley, Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, Vince Gill, Ricky Skaggs, Sandi Patty, Natalie Grant and many others. His music has been performed by the Boston Pops, the Cincinnati Pops, the New York Pops, for the CMA Country Christmas television show and for Disney theme park shows worldwide such as “World of Color”, “Fantasmic” and many others. Mr. Hamilton has conducted pops and holiday concerts with many of the leading American and Canadian orchestras including the Dallas, St. Louis, Denver, Atlanta, Vancouver, Edmonton, Virginia, and Detroit symphonies. He has led his hometown, Nashville Symphony numerous times. He has also conducted the National Symphony, the Cincinnati Pops, and has made multiple appearances at Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center. He also conducts recording orchestras at renowned scoring stages such as Oceanway and RCA in Nashville, Capitol and Warner Brothers in Los Angeles and Abbey Road and AIR Studios in London. Drawing from his diverse musical skills, Hamilton brings to the podium unique abilities to bridge musical gaps, speaking the musical languages of musicians from different lanes. In his recent creative endeavors Hamilton alternates between conductor and musical director- pianist roles with Dolly Parton’s “Threads, My Songs in Symphony”, which he arranged and orchestrated for Schirmer Theatrical. For many years he has collaborated with Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith as conductor and touring musical director helping them each create their own legacies of rich holiday musical traditions. Hamilton’s orchestral arrangements and music production have helped bring Smith’s music to life in the concert hall and the studio and he has also collaborated with CeCe Winans as arranger and conductor presenting gospel music with the National Symphony. Hamilton’s compositions are also heard on numerous solo piano recordings such as his jazz release, "Good Things” and his meditative offering, ”Sacred Space”. Mr. Hamilton earned an undergraduate degree in piano, composition, and conducting from the Wheaton College Conservatory of Music, and a graduate degree in commercial music and jazz from the University of Miami School of Music. This diverse and well-rounded training along with many years serving in church music leadership have equipped him to thrive both in the studio and on stages throughout North America, Europe, and in the vibrant creative scene of his hometown, Nashville.

Brian Eads is a conductor whose career spans classical, pops, musical theater, and contemporary symphonic projects. He is the former music director of the 2024 Les Misérables World Arena Tour, as well as music director of the 2017 and 2022 Les Misérables North American Tours. Eads is recognized for his musical versatility and his engaging rapport with audiences of all ages and backgrounds. Eads’s touring credits extend beyond traditional repertoire into the world of video game music, including performances of the beloved Stardew Valley score and the acclaimed soundtrack from Death Stranding, with upcoming tours across the United States and Mexico City. His work as a professional arranger and orchestrator has been heard in performances by the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra, Nashville Symphony, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Utah Symphony, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl. Recently GRAMMY®-nominated as a producer and arranger, Eads is an artist with Club44 Records and maintains an active career in Nashville as a producer, arranger, and orchestrator across classical, pops, jazz, musical theater, the American Songbook, and gospel. Trained as a concert pianist, Eads began his career as a collaborative pianist, working most notably with GRAMMY® Award-winning vocalist Sylvia McNair. He has appeared as guest conductor with the Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra, Lima Symphony Orchestra, Mississippi Symphony Orchestra, Northwest Mississippi Symphony Orchestra, Columbus Indiana Philharmonic, and the Princeton Festival Orchestra. He has served as cover conductor with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and, on three occasions with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. A return engagement to his alma mater, Indiana University, saw him lead a celebrated production of HMS Pinafore. Born and raised in rural Mississippi, Eads credits the Boston Pops as an early inspiration—one of his very first CDs was a collection of John Williams film scores performed by the orchestra. Eads holds a Master of Music in orchestral conducting from Florida State University and a Bachelor of Music in piano performance from Delta State University and is currently a doctoral candidate in orchestral conducting at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music.
